In the middle of the river what the seasoned kayaker or boater knows is if you fall out of your craft, you don’t stand in the water. You flow with it. Feet up, head up. In the river, flowing.
The idea here is the river is bigger, more powerful, and that whether it is water or debris of even the boat you were just launched from you are better off going with the flow—rather than standing up—for stability.
My experience is this works well if you are a kayaker or boater. Not so well if this is life we are talking about.
I know. “Go with the flow.” There is HUGE wisdom here and in the big picture, I TRUST THE FLOW. But this is STANDING. Taking a stand and rooting down into it, easily, lovingly, trustingly – STANDING.
When I am in the flow I enjoy the view, the current, the movement. And where my eyes lead me is to the rocks and trees that aren’t moving. That big boulder where the water swirls around it, effortlessly. That tree trunk where the curl of a few rapids also whip up around it. They remain, standing.
The Waters of YES are LifeForce. Raw organizing power. Pure fertility and willingness to create and thrive seeds of possibility. How on earth are these seeds going to take root if they are in the flow? They root when they take a stand. So do we…
My invitation is to take a stand in the Waters of YES. These waters will heal, nurture and bring countless blessings to this clarity, to this stand, to this choosing.
I suppose the only warning to all of this is if you find yourself standing in a desert…you might consider picking up and looking for some of those waters again…the Waters of YES !
