Little Moments & a Pix Ax

It’s curious, how simple a little moment can be when there’s an exchange with someone that is from the surface really quite plain.

Just now, in my case a few moments ago, borrowing a pix ax from my daughter’s garden shed and walking over with her and fetching it together and then talking about the plumbing that was going in at my place and why I needed a pickax and then her going her way and me going my way down the grass path and the open field lined by banana trees back to my little job / home site.

As I was carrying the pickax like one of the seven dwarfs, I just thought what a joy that simple exchange was, that check in, that casual share, and then just continuing on with our respective day, independent of one another, but with one another.

I chose to be here and it is for those simple, plain moments …being with someone who I love and borrowing her pickax for work needed that makes my life here more sweetly perfect every day.

That decision, that yes to make the leap, to stretch beyond my imagination and wing it, and work it out along the way makes me uncomfortable and nervous and at the same time, exhilarated.

I don’t think there is security in the waters of yes but there’s an affirmation of living out loud and in it, the risks are included. It’s not threatened by those risks, but it’s to be thrust into a place that requires curiosity and learning and courage and doing things never done before and honestly, why are we here if we are not simultaneously being stretched to grow and having a simple share with someone we care about and love …yes !
