Palisades Fire – Part 2: Angels are being called to elsewhere

I have too many friends in the LA area to count, family I can count, who are all being devastatingly impacted by the Palisades fire. Ashes of what was once ocean views, canyon hideaways now barren and smoldering charcoal. The tragedies are immeasurable and certainly no sense of it is possible. Nothing will quite be the same for many, many years. A generational event is occurring and everyone in this mix is being asked a singular question: what’s next?

Of course, the first response is to figure out how to re-build. Another is, where to now?

And all I have is prayers for well being and clarity as these answers begin to surface for each individual displaced.

Underneath this all is a notion that indeed, these Angelinos may indeed being asked to consider taking what they have learned in this singular town, and bring it to other corners of the world. They are being “kicked out” by disaster for another kind of good.

Because one notion is for certain, those who lived there, were living good lives. Fortunate lives. And in effect, they are being asked to share that fortune, and now tragedy, with others…where ever they go.

If you encounter someone impacted, listen. What they have to say is precious. Open your doors, set them at your tables and share a pillow or two with them. It appears to be a time of sharing, tragic sharing but true sharing.
